Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") outlines the acceptable uses of the services provided by Syncrypted. By using our services, including but not limited to colocation, dedicated servers, virtual private servers, network infrastructure, or any other products or services, you agree to comply with the terms set forth in this policy. Any violations of this AUP may result in the suspension or termination of services without notice.

1. Prohibited Uses

The following uses of our services are strictly prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to:

  1. Fraudulent Activities: Engaging in fraudulent activities such as phishing, financial fraud, or any other deceptive practice is prohibited.
  2. Distribution of Malware or Malicious Software: The distribution of malicious software (viruses, Trojans, spyware, etc.) is prohibited.
  3. Denial-of-Service (DoS) or Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) Attacks: Conducting DoS or DDoS attacks or any similar network disruption activities is not allowed.
  4. Unauthorized Scanning, Penetration Testing: Scanning, penetration testing, or other forms of unauthorized network probing without express written permission is not allowed.
  5. Spamming: Using our infrastructure to send unsolicited communications, including through the use of "botnets" or other automated means, is prohibited.
  6. Content Violations: Hosting or distributing content that is offensive, defamatory or discriminatory. This includes content that encourages violence, terrorism or malicious activity.

2. User Responsibilities

In addition to complying with the prohibited uses outlined above, users are responsible for the following:

2.1. Data Integrity

You must ensure that the data you store, transmit, or process using our services is accurate, complete, and legal. You are solely responsible for the content stored or transmitted through your account.

2.2. Security Measures

Users must maintain adequate security measures on their systems and accounts to prevent unauthorized access. This includes using strong passwords, enabling two-factor authentication (2FA), and ensuring that software is regularly updated and patched against known vulnerabilities.

3. System Monitoring and Privacy

3.1. Monitoring for Compliance

Syncrypted reserves the right to monitor the use of its infrastructure, network, and services to ensure compliance with this AUP and to protect the overall integrity and security of the system. Monitoring may include reviewing traffic patterns, resource usage, and user activities

3.2. Privacy Protection

While we monitor network traffic for security and performance purposes, we are committed to respecting the privacy of our users. Any data collected for security or compliance purposes will only be used as necessary to maintain service integrity and protect against misuse.

4. Enforcement and Consequences

Any violation of this AUP may result in corrective action, including suspension or termination of services.

5. Appeals

If you believe that an action has been taken in error, you may appeal the decision by contacting our support team at abuse (at) syncrypted.com. Appeals will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

6. Updates to This Policy

Syncrypted may update this Acceptable Use Policy from time to time. Any updates will be communicated to users via email or posted on our website. By continuing to use our services, you agree to the updated terms.
